Experience working directly with non-software teams such as researchers and designers, and personally leading the work from problem identification through requirements definition, implementation, and deployment
Experience deploying to production and operating an LLM-powered tool that people other than yourself use continuously in their daily work (one-off PoCs or demos do not count)
Hands-on experience building LLM applications: prompt and agent design, tool/function calling, RAG, and quantitative evaluation of output quality
Experience developing production software in Python (including testing, code review, CI/CD, and documentation), using coding agents (Claude Code, Codex, etc.) as your primary means of development

Company Overview
Yaqumo is a quantum computing startup founded on research originating from the Takahashi Laboratory at Kyoto University and the Omori Laboratory at the Institute for Molecular Science (IMS).
Our core technology is based on neutral-atom quantum computing, a promising architecture known for its scalability to large numbers of qubits. While neutral-atom systems offer significant advantages in scalability, challenges remain in areas such as fault tolerance and computational performance. Yaqumo combines the expertise of both research groups to address these challenges.
In 2025, the company secured approximately JPY 700 million in funding and was selected for a major NEDO (New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization) program. We are currently developing ytterbium-based quantum gates, control systems, and quantum error correction technologies, with the goal of delivering a prototype fault-tolerant quantum computer by FY2027.
Our long-term vision is to bring neutral-atom quantum computing into practical use and tackle societal challenges that are beyond the capabilities of conventional computing.

Job Summary
Yaqumo is a Kyoto University spin-out developing neutral-atom quantum computers. Toward a fault-tolerant quantum computer by 2030, our quantum experiment, optical design, and control software teams are each driving development forward.
In this role, you will work inside each team's development work, identify processes that AI can solve, use the latest AI to produce deliverables design proposals, analysis results, and working code in a short time, and embed them into the development process so that they take hold.
No quantum expertise is required. What we look for is the ability to build deliverables quickly with AI, integrate them into actual development, and bring them to a state where they keep running without you.
